We have a Bishop!
The Holy Father, Pope Francis has appointed FR. JUAREZ ALBINO DESTRO, RCJ of the Rogationist of the Heart of Jesus as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Porto Alegre, Brazil. The Bishop-elect is a priest belonging to the St. Luke Province of Brazil of the Rogationist. Fr. Juarez is assign by the Holy Father as the Titular see of Sufetula. Fr. Juarez is the 3rd Bishop of the Rogationist after Bishop Angelo Ademir Mezzari, RCJ, the Auxiliary Bishop of Sao Paulo, Brazil and Bishop Ottavio Vitale, RCJ of Albania.
Bishop-elect Juarez Albino Destro, RCJ was born on April 9, 1967 in Criciuma, Brazil. He completed his Philosophy in Curitiba-PR and Theology at the Instituto Teologico Sao Paulo in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He is currently the Vicar and Secretary of the Province of St. Luke in Brazil of the Rogationist. he serve also as the Assessor of the Episcopal Commission for Ordained Ministries and Cinsecrated Life of the Brazilian Episcopal Conference.
